What is a mod and how can you get one? Vanilla minecraft is just what it is the game we all came to love and respect.
So please have some consideration and check the wiki page about using mods on the Empire before you pick up on all this. There are tons of different client mods out there and not every one of them is appropriate to use on the Empire. Hopefully this will be of more use to you guys than " just download the zip and follow the instructions?" Before we get started. And what do you know? I got it to work! And as always with these things I'd like to share my discoveries. But getting a better overview of my surroundings (especially since the server map still needs to catch up here and there) and an option to save my work (residence) would be a welcome one. Nothing too spectacular, I don't want inventory tweaks and all that stuff. Nothing wrong with that but it did make me wonder about giving myself a small boost to enhance the gameplay a little bit. I like that, but I can also see that some changes make certain parts of the game a little harder on us than it was before.
Anyway, 1.8 is upon us and some changes move us closer to vanilla gameplay.
Well, that started to lead a life on its own and soon I got asked many times: " how did you install that?" to which I could honestly only answer: " I downloaded the zip, followed the instructions (readme file), and that's it.". It did require a little tweaking but could be easily made to work with MC 1.7.10, and because I only needed it once. It basically allows you to play in a (multiplayer) world and download all your surroundings.
Recently I wanted a copy of my residence and via - via discovered the World downloader plugin. If you do run into issues, take a look at any other mods you might be using.Hi gang! Up until this point I've always played Minecraft in a vanilla setup, I'm not even using texture packs. Also, since most LIteLoader mods are inherently compatible with Forge mods, this tiny problem isn’t even going to be a tiny problem for most people who use Voxelmap. If you’re already a dedicated user of LiteLoader then you don’t really need to worry about this. That doesn’t mean the mod is incompatible with all Forge mods, but it does open the doors for some conflicts there. It’s important to note that Voxelmap was designed to work with LiteLoader. But how much easier would Minecraft be if all the dungeons, villages and temples were outlined on a map for you right from the time you created the world? This feature will take some time to load and work when rendering new worlds, so expect that startup process to take a little longer if you use Voxelmap. This feature is very buggy in multiplayer servers where different players can make changes to the world at the same time, so don’t expect it to work there. With the Voxelmap mod installed, you can see a map for the entirety of your world before you go to explore a single step of it. Lots of minimap mods feature a waypoint system, but Voxelmap does something all of them fail to do. But this isn’t even the best part of the package. Then you can follow colored markers on your minimap to find those places again, which makes getting lost pretty much impossible with Voxelmap installed. Waypoints can be set for your home, the dungeon where you farm items, the mineshaft you’ve been looting, really wherever you want. The Voxelmap mod features a waypoint system which you can easily manage and manipulate by just right-clicking on the minimap itself. The Voxelmap mod features a small minimap which you can use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out on to see all kinds of details about your surroundings.
How many times have you died in Hardcore while running around, only to find you don’t know how to get back to your home where all your nice food and equipment is stored? It happens. Sure, those little square bits of paper work, but the fact you need to actually craft a map before you can start keeping track of your surroundings is just frustrating. People are always looking for ways to improve Minecraft’s terrible vanilla mapping system.
